Rogue Transfer & Recycling invests in rail spur to provide better materials flow

Abstract

The Rogue Transfer & Recycling trans-load facility rail spur provides direct access to the Transfer Station, allowing waste to be shipped in for disposal and collected recyclable materials to be shipped out to regional materials recovery facilities.

Rail trans-load investment provides direct shipping access to inbound waste and outbound recyclables.

Located next to the Rogue Disposal & Recycling Transfer Station in White City, the Rogue Transfer & Recycling trans-load facility was created for the loading and offloading of solid waste and recycling materials. Instead of having hundreds of trucks hauling materials to the Transfer Station, the trans-load facility allows the same materials to be brought in by rail, greatly reducing truck traffic and emissions.

By investing in the construction of this rail spur, waste can be hauled to the facility, while collected recyclable materials can be shipped in bulk to material recovery facilities across the Northwest.

The rail trans-load facility was completed in 2017.
