Rogue Disposal & Recycling invests in technology to convert fleet to cleaner-burning CNG fuel

Abstract

The fleet of 36 Rogue Disposal & Recycling trucks is well on the way toward conversion to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Refuse collection vehicles run much quieter and cleaner than their predecessor diesel trucks, reducing noise and emissions as they run their routes each day.

Fleet conversion investment makes Rogue Disposal & Recycling trucks run cleaner and quieter

Rogue Disposal & Recycling is in the process of converting the majority of its fleet of trucks to run on cleaner-burning Compressed Natural Gas, or CNG. This initiative began in 2004. By 2024, when this long-term initiative is completed, roughly 75% of the fleet will be converted.

Rogue Waste, Inc. has invested in the advanced technology required to switch from diesel fuel to CNG, allowing the trucks to run significantly quieter and cleaner than before. Since the Rogue Valley is ringed by mountains, air quality is an ever-present concern, and doing anything possible to help keep the air clean is crucial. Converting the trucks to use CNG as their fuel has greatly reduced particulate emissions.

The CNG fleet conversion will be completed in 2024.
